ABOUT DR. AHMAD
There are surgeons who perform procedures — and there are surgeons who transform outcomes. Dr. Saqib Maqsood Ahmad belongs in the second category.
With more than two decades at the forefront of gynecologic surgery, Dr. Ahmad has built a practice in Flint, Michigan that women across the region trust for their most complex and sensitive reproductive health conditions. As the lead surgeon at Ladies First Health Care, he has performed over 2,500 advanced gynecologic procedures — including 1,500+ robotic minimally invasive cases — with a sub-0.5% conversion rate to open surgery. That number is not an accident. It is the result of technical mastery, disciplined surgical judgment, and an unwavering commitment to offering every patient the most effective, least invasive path to recovery.
Dr. Ahmad holds triple board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery — a distinction held by very few surgeons in the United States. He is also a Da Vinci Robotic Surgery Masters-level practitioner and a Clinical Professor at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine, where he has shaped the training of the next generation of OB/GYN physicians for over 17 years.
He is a 17-time recipient of the CREOG National Faculty Award — the highest honor for residency educators in obstetrics and gynecology — and has simultaneously earned the Patients’ Choice Award 17 times, reflecting the enduring trust patients place in his care. In Dr. Ahmad’s hands, clinical brilliance and patient compassion are not in conflict. They are the same thing.
“A woman facing endometriosis, fibroids, or pelvic prolapse deserves more than a procedure. She deserves a surgeon who has spent an entire career perfecting the art of minimally invasive healing.”

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
Dr. Ahmad’s approach to gynecologic surgery is guided by a simple belief: every woman deserves the expertise of a surgeon who has spent an entire career perfecting the craft. Whether treating a 17-year-old with endometriosis or a 60-year-old with pelvic organ prolapse, his standard of care does not change.
His minimally invasive philosophy is rooted in evidence — fewer incisions mean less pain, shorter hospital stays, faster returns to daily life, and lower complication rates. Under his leadership at Ladies First Health Care, these principles translated into a 40% reduction in length-of-stay for major gynecologic surgeries.
Fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi, and conversational Hindi, Dr. Ahmad serves Flint’s diverse community with both medical expertise and genuine cultural sensitivity. He has provided volunteer gynecologic surgical services to underserved women in the United States, Pakistan, Denmark, and Malaysia.
